"Chelsea confident that a deal will be done" - Blues to secure more signings before end of market window

By

Chelsea are confident that Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater will join before the end of the day.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month.

And respected journalist Matt Law has claimed on Twitter that the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement.

"Chelsea closing in on a deal for Drinkwater," he wrote on his Twitter account.

"Confidence now that deal will be done, although Chelsea will have to increase 3rd bid a bit."

He will join Davide Zappacosta who moved to Stamford Bridge from Torino.

Manager Antonio Conte was determined to add depth to his squad ahead of a long season that will see Chelsea fight for the English Premier League and Champions League.

And it seems he managed to accomplish his mission as the two are the club's fifth and sixth summer signings.
